ASHWARD - Progression

...ever the elusive beast in this project. The weight of the work yet to be done is heavy, my ambition in this project over shot actual abilite... a mistake I won't be making again anytime soon. With the shadow of a deadline looming it's full steam ahead, I'll finish this yet.

Search for the Sky

Search for the Sky was a childrens book project I attempted to complete for the McMillan prize. The project was finished but not to my satisfaction so I didn't submit it, currently it's in the pipeline to be reworked.
Children are hard to write for... much harder than adults.
So basically the story is about a little girl who lives in a world that has no sky (well it does but it's always coverd by clouds) this is quite a dark and foreboading world, not your usual childrens book. As you can guess by the title our young protagonist is searching for it, ofcourse having never seen it before she has no idea how to find it, or even what it looks like... cue adventure.

Illphy - ASHWARD

Illphy Darkmore, the unwilling center of the ASHWARD project had her genesis as a character almost 3 years ago and like alot of the characters I develop was created without a coherent story or world to inhabit. Orthough madness is a hard subject to pin down, especialy if your already maintaining several other worlds at the time. So Illphy has been festering in her cell for the last two years and it's only in the last couple of months that the door has been opened for this project. You wouldn't belive the smell.

Ah heh

You known.... more poeple would probably comment on these blogs if they didn't make it such a chore to do so off the bat.

ASHWARD Concept

Concept piece, the character drawing it's self is a few years old but it served it's purpose for this little frame test. The artwork for the comic, when complete, will incorporate real textures to help create the surreal world. Slightly ironic.
